Distance Learning
Math-Power on the Internet

The Distance Learning Service of Math-Power provides the same quality supplemental math education as is found in any Math-Power Center. It uses the same instructional packets and the same student assessment and advancement procedures as found in a Math-Power Center. If there are no Math-Power Centers in your state, then your student is eligible for the Distance Learning Service via the Internet at a price of only $US 29.95 a month per student.

The Distance Learning Service is also available via the Internet to all students beyond the North American Continent from the Math-Power headquarters in Asheville, NC (USA). The price for these students is still under evaluation. (If you have ideas, please let us know via email.)

Once a week for all students, the scores and times of all packets are sent to Math-Power via a brief connection on the Internet. The next week's set of packets for the student are assigned, and are then quickly downloaded to the connected computer. Once the Internet connection is terminated, the packets can be printed for the student.

In the weekly reporting of scores and times, there also are provisions for sending any relevant comments, concerns, and/or observations by the monitoring adult. As needed, your designated Math-Power representative will be available by email or telephone to discuss parental concerns about student progress, behavior, or learning problems.

At any time a student or monitor may send an e-mail to Math-Power Headquarters requesting help on solving any problem in his or her current assignments. Math-Power will respond quickly to such requests with specific suggestions and/or detailed instruction sheets.

(NOTE: The computer is used only by the student's parent or guardian to contact the Math-Power server as described above. Students complete the printed assignments manually WITHOUT using a computer or calculator.)
