Math-Power Computer Requirements

The Math-Power Center operations are based upon using the Math-Power Center Software. This software package requires the presence of a Windows OS computer at the Math-Power Center

(NOTE: Computers are used only by the Center Owner for operating the Center itself.   Students complete the printed assignments manually WITHOUT using a calculator or a computer.)

The basic computer requirements for a Math-Power Center are as follows:
1. A Pentium PC, desktop or laptop, with a 166 Mhz or faster processor, running a Windows 95, 98, 2000, Me, or XP operating system

2. RGB Monitor (15" or larger preferred),

3. 32 Mbytes or more of RAM,

4. 16 Mbytes free Hard Drive space,

5. CD-ROM or CD-RW Drive (The Math-Power CD-ROM needs to be present to operate the Math-Power program),

6. InkJet or Laser Printer (For packet assignment sheets and Center reports)

7. A ZIP, JAZZ, or CD-RW Drive (or equivalent) for Math-Power data file back-up, and <

8. Multiple ZIP, JAZZ, CD-R or CD-RW disks for the back-up drive.
For larger Centers, operations are simplified if linked computers are provided at the instructor and assistant workstations, and at the reception desk if one is used. Details of such configurations are covered at training.
