The Math-Power Center Concept
The Math-Power Center is a facility
developed by the Math-Power Center Owner to provide once-a-week interactions
with the Center's students. Each student visits the Center for about twenty
minutes, during which the student completes a selected Classwork packet to
measure his progress. Based upon the student's time and scores on the classwork
packet, and upon the times and scores for the completed homework packets,
the Math-Power Center software program identifies the proper homework packets
for the next week. These packets are provided from the Center's inventory as
the Student leaves the Center.
The Center is normally scheduled to be open two days a week,
for about three hours a day, usually in the 3 to 6 PM time frame. An Instructor may choose to have the
Center open more than two days a week at a single site to accommodate additional students.
The Center can also shift to other sites on different days.
The only hardware requirement is
that a computer, with the Math-Power software installed and the Math-Power
CD in the CD drive, be present at the Center. This computer is needed to
provide the packet selection and data recording functions for the Center
Owner.
The initial investment for a new Math-Power
Center is approximately $2500.00 plus, if not already available, a suitable computer.
The $2500 covers the training session expenses, the start-up level annual license, and the
initial inventory of packets. The costs of travel, motel, and meal expenses are not included in this amount.
Additional initial expenses may involve
advertising, space acquisition, and insurance.
